Robin
page thirteen of etiolated. panel one: i'm in good company among the adult-diagnosed, including two of my partners. panel two: we're cool. thoughtful. creative. sensitive. panel three: not too little. it is august 2024 and i've been applying for disability for two years. i'm only three-fourths through formal autism evaluation. i need medical papers. i could get specific care for symptoms of both stress and autism. disordered sleep. weird digestion. joint pain. hypermobility. chronic fatigue. as well as more specific mental health. an illustration represents the symptoms with shadows across a diagram of a human. panel four: not too late. too late? too late?! i'm only 30 years old, just learning to live! i might survive as many as five more years! nine portraits of people close or meaningful to robin are in the bottom of the panel. several of the faces are smiling. the faces each have a colorful component - hair, earrings, irises. panel five: an illustration of robin's apartment showing two floors and a staircase out the back. robin leads a person across the basement floor under the words, "let's sit inside".
