11 was getting an autism diagnosis as an adult not too little, too late?

page eleven of etiolated. a two-panel page. in the top panel a figure sits at a table in the style of maria abramovic's performance "the artist is present" and asks a question to robin, who is a seated figure with a skull for a head. the question is: do you feel like your late diagnosis is "too little, to late"? the second panel says "short answer - NO. my diagnosis and the context it provides are a strand that sustain me over A VOID". the words are small and spiral into a vast empty space. in the center of the emptiness is a small robin figure. at the periphery are a dozen or so scattered figures engaging in daily life.

maria abramovic is a performance artist. in the first panel i reference her piece “the artist is present”, in which the artist and the viewer sit in uncomfortable, separate focus for the rest of the gallery visitors
